About Us

RescueMoto is a healthcare & transportation project whose aim is to contribute to the
UN Millennium Development Goals. We are a social business that sells a high quality product, empowering individuals to fight the mindset of poverty and address the economic needs of the underprivileged.
Costa “Gus” Mavraganis, RescueMoto    Founder/Developer
First and foremost, I am a humanitarian at heart. I have worked in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Haiti. I was born and raised in the US having been born into a Greek immigrant family. I have always had a propensity to helping the underprivileged.
Over the years I have worked very closely with doctors and medical personnel from rural clinics to develop RescueMoto to fulfill the needs of the rural poor. One of my great passions in life has always been motorcycling. I have been trained in sidecar and trailer manufacturing, setup and driving by some of the best people who know this craft. It was from these life experiences, of humanitarianism, the love of motorcycles and a need to help those less fortunate that the idea for RescueMoto was born.
I speak English, Greek, Spanish and French. I am working on learning Haitian Creole and Malagasy.
Monsignor Fernando de La Vega, Consultant
Monsignor Fernando de La Vega was the heart and soul of this project. When we first discussed the idea in Jan 2011, it was he who suggested we pour our efforts into developing the RescueMoto to help others in the third world. He passed away in October 2011 but his influence and inspiration will carry on forever with every RescueMoto.
Jorge Salazar, Development Consultant
Jorge is a very good friend who has donated hundreds of hours of his expertise and labor to this project.  Despite having a full-time job and family, he has found the time to selflessly see this project come to fruition.
